Melesio Solis
A rosary is scheduled 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at St. Peters Catholic Church for Melesio Solis, 76, of Dexter who passed away Monday, March 10, 2008 at his home. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 13, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church.
Melesio was born on December 4, 1931 in San Bernardo, Durango, Mexico to Francisco Sanchez and Cayetana Solis. His parents have preceded him in death as well as numerous brothers and sisters
Melesio was married to Guadalupe Sosa who passed away on November 13, 1990.
Melesio is survived by his son: David Solis and wife Norma of Dexter; his daughter: Sylvia Vargas and husband Filemon of Roswell and Irene Lucy Morones and husband Marcos of Roswell; his brother: Salvador Sanchez of Phoenix, AZ; his sisters: Natalia Ruiz Solis of Durango, Mexico, Catalina Sanchez of Denver, CO., Francisca Sanchez of California, Lucia Sanchez of California; and his grandchildren: Mark Anthony Morones, Diego Morones, Miguel Angel Morones, Andres Vargas, Daniella Solis, and Estevan Solis; as well as a mother- in law: Ignacia Sosa.
After retiring from the dairy he became a door greeter at Wal-Mart for the last 12 years. He also enjoyed fishing and shelling his pecans and most of all spending time with his grandchildren. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff of Vista Care especially Amy, Frances, Twyla, Cecil and Chris, also Dr. Kaleecal, Dr. Raes and their staffs.
Pallbearers will Phillipe Sosa, Francisco Ruiz, Marcos Morones, Filemon Vargas, Mark Anthony Morones, Felipe Sosa; Honorary Pallbearers will be Salvador Sanchez, Matilde Maese, Marcos Morones Sr., Apolino Orquiz, Augustine Torrez, Jesus Lopez, Freddie Sosa, Frankie Sosa, Martin Sosa, Fidel Sosa, Fernando Sosa, Felix Sosa, Benny Lueras, Martin Hernandez, George Lopez and Numerous Compadres.
