Melba Lee Caraway

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Saturday, March 9, 2013 at Ballard Chapel for Melba Lee Caraway, 94, who passed away Wednesday, March 06, 2013 at Mission Arch Care Center. Rev. Donald Price will be officiating with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Melba was born July 27, 1918 in Abilene, Texas. She married Mark Caraway in 1935. He preceded her in death in 1982. Melba was also preceded in death by her daughter Susan Barrington.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons John M. Caraway and wife Cheryl of Carlsbad and Alan L. Caraway and wife Kay of Ft. Sumner as well seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

Melba lived in Roswell since 1945 coming from Texas. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of First Baptist Church. Melba was a past member of Daughters of the Nile and Beauceant. She was a past golf champion at both Roswell Country Club and City of Roswell. Melba was a life master in Bridge. She was a devoted mother and homemaker. Melba will be missed greatly missed by all who knew her.

The family would like to give a big thank you to all the staff at Mission Arch Care Center for their special care along with Dr. Steve Muhr and Vista Care Hospice of Roswell.
