Maurine Davis Dodson passed away peacefully on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Heartfelt Manor Nursing Home in Roswell. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, February 27, 2013 at South Park Cemetery. Maurine will lie in state at Ballard Funeral Home Tuesday, February 26, 2013 from 8:00 am to 7:00 pm. Family will receive friends at Ballard Funeral Home from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Maurine was born in Cunningham, Tennessee to Claude Duncan and Pauline Amy Davis. She was the middle child and was preceded in death by her brothers Comer, James and Wendell and her beloved sister Alice. Maurine married Dr. James A. Winn. Later they moved to Dexter and became a part of the First United Methodist Church family. She was active in the womens groups and teaching Sunday School. She had a servants heart and volunteered in the community, schools, and the Dexter Womans Club. They had a daughter, Alice Marie on June 5, 1951. A son James David was born to them on February 13, 1953 and died the next day. Dr. Winn was buried next to their son on February 24, 1964 in Hagerman.

Maurine and S.M Dodson married on April 25, 1965. They owned and operated Castle Egg Farm. It was not unusual for Maurine to deliver cases of eggs to local restaurants and then go in the front door for a luncheon with friends. After retirement they traveled to visit family and friends and take in points of interest. Sab preceded her in death on May 27, 2011. Maurine and Sab mentored in the HOSTS program at Washington Avenue School.

Maurine is survived by her daughter Alice Marie Winn Stiles and her husband Larry of Roswell. She leaves grandchildren Alison Stiles Nicholson and her husband Brian and their children Maggie, Sam, Tommy, Jacob and Libby of Lubbock, Texas, Julie Stiles Lynn and her husband Jeff and their children Eli, Noah and Luke of Roswell, Jacob Taylor Stiles and his wife ValerieBarajas and their children Riley, Wyatt, Caden and Carrington of Odessa, Texas.
