Maurice Jake Ford

A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at Memory Lawn Memorial Park for Maurice Jake Ford 95, who passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2011 in Levelland, TX. Dallas Pruit will be officiating.

Maurice was born June 10, 1915 in Hayden, Colorado to Jason Wilber and Mabel E. Cowen Ford. His parents preceded him in death. Maurice married Esther M. Lane on June 12, 1935 in Colorado. She also preceded him in death.

Maurice is survived by his son Maurice W. Ford II and wife Sandra of Levelland, TX daughter Donna K Pruit and husband Sherman of Littleton, CO brother Jack W. Ford and wife Teresa of Scottsdale, AZ grandchildren Brett Pruit, Sherda Schmid, Dallas Pruit, Jason Ford, Lisa Ford, Kelly Ford, Angela Eggert, Adam Eggert and Angelica Eggert and seventeen great grandchildren.

Maurice lived in Roswell for sixtythree years and moved to Levelland, TX to live with his son for the last ten years. He was an electrician and owner of Glass Electricity Company. Maurice was a life member Elks Lodge 969 and The Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. He was a fisherman and an archer and later on he took up the game of golf.

The family requests that donations be made in Maurices name to The Alzheimers Association New Mexico Chapter, 404 N. Kentucky, Roswell, NM 88201, Salvation Army, 612 W. College, Roswell, NM 88201 or American Red Cross of Chaves County, 200 S. Main, Roswell, NM 88203.
