MAUDIE B. CRAWFORD

Maudie Burton Crawford, age 93, of Los Lunas, NM, passed away Friday April 6, 2012. She was born November 10, 1918 in Roswell, NM, to John Granville and Mary Ann Burton.

Maudie was married to the late Oscar Fay Crawford who farmed on the Berrendo north of Roswell for 40 years.

Maudie was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority in Albuquerque for many years. She worked hard all her life and was a very giving person. She gave of herself to everyone in her family and to all her friends. If someone needed help, she was the first one to step forward without a thought for herself or her wellbeing. She has lived in Los Lunas with her son and daughterin law for the last 29 years. She will be missed.

Maudie was the 5th child of eight siblings.

She was preceded in death by his brothers Richard Burton, Bob Burton, Alvin Burton, and sisters, Sylvia Burton, Willa Hatch, Nina Crawford, and Sybil Wilson. She is survived by her brother, John Burton, and wife Sue, who reside in Georgetown, Texas.

Maudie is also survived by her two children, Granville Grant Crawford and wife Dorothy Peaches Crawford of Los Lunas, NM, and Sylvia Irene Green and husband Dick Green of Coppell, Texas, and three step children, Roger Crawford, Brian Crawford and Donza Beth Gilchrist and her favorite nephews Bobby Gene Crawford and wife Barbara of Pubelo, CO and Woody Crawford and wife Ann of Las Cruces, NM and niece Blaine Stacy and husband Curly Stacy of Houston, TX. Maudie has four surviving grandchildren, Granville G2 Crawford II, Richard Rick Green and Mary K Keane and husband Maurice Keane, Chad Ingram and wife Stacy of Carlsbad, NM and four adoring great grandchildren, Katie, Andrew, Ryan and Sarah Margaret Keane, all of Coppell, Texas.

A memorial service will be held at 10:00 AM, Friday, April 13, 2012 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel, Roswell, New Mexico.
