Maria "Lil Mary" Archuleta passed on to her eternal home on January 23, 2024, in Roswell, NM. Maria was born November 8, 1957 in Gallup, NM to Clovis O. Archuleta and Leticia Padilla. She was one of 13 children. Maria met her lifelong partner Juan "Popo" Romero in the early 70's in Carlsbad, NM.
Maria was a follower of Christ, as any follower of Christ comes great things like a big heart. Mary had the biggest heart; she would give you her last dollar and do without. She was loved by all she came across. She had a great sense of humor (always had something to say). Maria loved and cherished all her children but especially her grandchildren. Her presence will be greatly missed.
Maria is preceded in death by her Lifelong partner, Juan "Popo" Romero; father Clovis O. Archuleta; mother Leticia Padilla Archuleta; brothers Louie, Micheal, Richard, Clovis, Leroy and Paul; sisters Jenny, Ramona, Anna and Rosie.
Those left to cherish and honor her memory are sons, Carlos Romero and wife Monica of Roswell, NM, Mario Romero and wife Sarah of Roswell, NM, and Jason Rodriguez and wife Angelica of San Marcus, TX; daughters Savannah Romero and Roxanna Romero of Roswell, NM; brothers Frank Archuleta and wife Sylvia of Roswell, NM and Danny Archuleta of Roswell, NM; sister Toni Rodriguez of Roswell, NM and grandchildren Joseph, Leah, Nathaniel, Genesis, Mariah, Nehemiah, Isaiah, Aria, Erik, and Isaac.
Honored to serve as pallbearers are Carlos Romero, Joseph Romero, Mario Romero, Isaiah Romero, Nathaniel Aguilar, Savannah Romero, Roxanna Romero, and Israel Archuleta. Honorary Pallbearers are Leah Romero, Aria Romero, Genesis Montoya, Erik Rodriguez, Mariah Romero, Isaac Rodriguez, Nehemiah Vallejos, David Romero, Andrew Valadez, Micheal Ramon, and Sam Romero.
A special thank you to Israel and Valerie Archuleta, Bertha Barela, Renee Archuleta, and Regina Villa.

A Tribute to Our Mother
The day God called you home,
in tears we saw you sinking
And watched you fade away.
Our hearts were broken,
we wanted you to stay.
But when we saw you sleeping
so peaceful from pain,
we were at ease.
It broke our hearts to lose you,
But you did not go alone,
For part of us went with you,
The day God took you home.
We Love Mom
