Mary Lena Baldwin Worley
Services were held on Sunday, July 30, 2011, for Mary Lena Baldwin Worley, who went to her eternal rest on Friday, July 29, 2011. A private, memorial gathering was conducted at Ballard Funeral Home by Chaplain Garth Hyde of VistaCare Hospice. Born on February 12, 1929, Mary Lena was the youngest of seven children born to Vashti Willingham Baldwin and William Francis Baldwin, of Roswell.
Mary Lena married Earl Louis Red Worley on May 5, 1945, in Roswell. Red survives her at the family home. They were married sixtysix years and had three children.
Other survivors include one son, William David Worley and his wife, Marcia, of Arlington, Texas and one daughter Cynthia Louise Worley Norman and her husband, Mark of Roswell.
She is also survived by four grandchildren Amelia Brown Goroff and her husband, Preston, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Elizabeth Brown Fulkerson, and her husband, Travis, of Jenks, Oklahoma, Zachary Worley, of The Colony, Texas, and Matthew Worley, also of Arlington. She is survived by two stepgrandchildren Clarissa Norman Harper, and her husband, Tyrel, of Silver City, New Mexico, and Matthew Norman and his wife, Shaundra, of Los Lunas, New Mexico.
Mary Lena is also survived by her greatgrandchildren Carson Eli Goroff and Ella Elizabeth Fulkerson four step greatgrandchildren Graylin Cole Harper, Kinley Grace Harper, Calissa April Norman and Payton Brooke Norman.
She is also survived by one brother, Thomas J. Baldwin, of San Bernardino, California and sistersinlaw, Stella Worley LegareCharles, Louise Worley MasonGarner, and Barbara WorleyLloyd.
She was preceded in death by her parents brothers, Joseph N. Baldwin, of Washington, D.C., Robert L. Baldwin, San Bernardino, California, William F. Baldwin, Ft. Hood, Texas sisters, Helen Baldwin Corn Donald, Lakewood, California, and Juanita Baldwin Stiles Charlie, Roswell. Mary Lena was also preceded in death by one son, Benjamin Earl Worley, Hawaii.
Special appreciation for the loving care given by Jodie Rogers of VistaCare Hospice, Deborah Adams of Comfort Keepers, Dr. Kumar, and Dr. Jinah. Thank you to George Rivera, family friend, for spending countless hours taking care of Mary Lena. We are grateful to those of you who knew and loved Mary Lena.
Mary Lena Baldwin Worley loved to laugh. She had an extremely soft heart, was kind and forgiving to everyone. We loved her so very much and will miss her beautiful smile and her encouraging words.
