Mary Peck

On Friday August 24, Mary Herrera Peck passed peacefully in her sleep at the age of 98 at Sunset Villa. She was a Roswell resident for over 70 years, born to Luis Herrera and Benjamin Hernandez in San Patricio, New Mexico on November 1, 1919.
She lived her life working as a housekeeper for many families in the Roswell area. She loved to spend time with her family, especially at their family reunions.
Mary is survived by a son Leroy C. Peck Sr. (Margeret), grandchildren; Joe "Rowland" Fresquez (Sylvia), Judy Avelar (Manuel), Debbie Fresquez, Jacqueline Salazar all of Roswell, Anthony Fresquez of, Alamogordo, NM, Johnny Peek (Monica), Theresa Romo (Raymond) of Albuquerque, NM Daniel J. Peck (Carol) of Los Lunas, Lee Peck, Christy Peck, Michael Peck (Kyleigh) all of Tucson AZ. She is survived by 32 great grandchildren, 46 great-great grandchildren, one great-great-great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents, spouse Roosevelt Peck, Sons Joe "Orlando" Fresquez, Manuel J. Peck, grandchildren Cindy Ramirez, Tracy Provencio, daughter-in-law Irene Fresquez and 2 great grandsons, Manuel Gabriel Avelar and Steven Peck. Preceding her in death also are her sibling's Jose, Antonio, Manuel, Eristeo, Frutoso, Amelia, Eulojia Marquez and Juanita Gavi as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
She will be deeply missed by all who called her Grandma Peck or Tia Maria as well as friends she made throughout her life.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, August 30, 2018 from 9 am to 5 pm at Ballard Chapel. Rosary is set for 9:00 am on Friday August 31,2018 followed by a Celebration of Life Mass at 10:00 am at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery where Mary will be laid to rest.
Pallbearers will be Johnny, Daniel Peck and Michael Peck, Rowland Fresquez., Danny Herrera, Archie Regalado, Anthony Fresquez, and Antonio Ramirez. Honorary Pallbearers Frutoso, Joe Herrera, Melvin Herrera, Billy Joe Herrera, Lorina Rue and Lee Peck.
The Family of Mary would like to thank the staff at Sunset Villa for the care they gave her. A special thanks to family and friends who took time to visit during her stay and making her birthdays and holidays special.
