Mary Helen Martinez 83 years old passed away December 4, 2019 in Lubbock surrounded by her family

.She was born March 09, 1936 to Victor and Anita Q. Ruiz in El Paso Texas. Both preceded her in death. On December 24, 1960, she married the love of her life, Benny N. Martinez, he too precedes her in death as did their infant daughter Elizabeth, granddaughter Bianca Martinez, a special cousin Esperanza Velasquez and many other extended family members

Mary Helen is survived by her sons; Benny Victor Martinez, Henry Martinez, Robert Martinez, all of Roswell, NM. Daughter; Deborah Hitchcock of Kennewick, Wa. Grandchildren; Modesta M. Orona, Elizabeth Martinez, Monica Martinez, Mariah M. Norwood, Abigail Martinez, Ramon Martinez, several great-grandchildren, a special "sister" cousin Martha K. Romero, special friend Michelle Wunderlick, and many other friends, family, neighbors she loved dearly.  Two adopted Four legged friends Bebe and Niko who loved her very much.

Who was Mary Helen Martinez? She was a loving wife, mother and friend to many. Her favorite saying was 'those were the good old days, " She loved to reminisce about the happy times in the 50's.

Her pastime was listening to oldies, and big band orchestra music, and moving to the beat. She also had beautiful handwriting and loved to write. We will be finding notes she has written for quite a while. But above all things she loved our Lord and her family wholeheartedly and unconditionally. She enjoyed life even though from an early age and throughout her lifetime there were many challenges, she overcame them all and always with a thankful heart for God who never let her down.
