No services will be held for Mary Ellen Cooper Levin, 91, who passed away on Friday, January 17, 2015 at Mission Arch Care Center. Burial will be at a later date at Roselawn Cemetery in Salina, KS.
Mary was born July 10, 1923 in Salina, KS to Leonard E. Cooper and Orfa M. Judd who preceded her in death. She married Robert H. Levin on October 17, 1942; he preceded her in death on August 21, 1996. Mary is also preceded in death by her sister Beth, nephew Robert Magnuson and sister-in-law Bernice Magnuson.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Terri Levin and husband Wally Hitchcock of Roswell, NM; son Rick Levin of Salina, KS; grandchildren Ryan Levin, Heather Levin, Jason Rooker and Hillary Knuckles; nieces Mary K. Leikam and Lynn Magnuson and nephews Scott Magnuson, Mike Magnuson and Richard Magnuson.
Mary had lived in Roswell, NM for the last three years coming from Salina, KS. She worked as a switchboard operator for Asbury Hospital in Salina, KS. Mary was a member of Ceramic Arts Society; ceramics was one of her favorite hobbies. She also loved to oil paint, plant and grow sunflowers; she was known at the "sunflower lady". Mary raised poodles and loved her dog Spike. She also loved riding and taking care of horses.
