Mary Anne Gebel
On Thursday October 26, 2006, Mary Anne Gebel passed from this life to a happy and healthy new beginning with her creator.
Services are scheduled for 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 30, 2006 at the First United Methodist Church.
Mary Anne was born on July 15, 1941, to Dr. and Mrs Earl Malone. Her mother Annabelle preceded her in death as well as her younger brother Earl Malone, Jr. Survivors also include her husband Howard Gebel, and son James Gebel of Roswell, a daughter, Pam Evans of Austin, Texas, her sister, Laura Lynn McCampbell of Dallas, Texas, in-laws, Pat Gebel of Upland California, Nancy and Joe Lewis of Las Vegas, Nevada, and four grandchildren, Brandon Gebel, Bradley Evans, Brian Evans and Clair Evans.
Mary Anne was a lifelong resident of Roswell, and involved in many organizations throughtout the years including being a charter member of the Pecos Valley Iris Society, Catus Sams RV Club, 1941 Book Club, Red Hats Society, PEO, Rock Hounds, Desk Derrick and Morning Garden Club. She worked 24 years for Transwestern Pipeline and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Along with her rewarding life as a mother and homemaker, Mary Anne loved animals and fishing, and could be found most mornings in her beautiful garden, or sharing a cup of coffee with neighbors and friends. Mary Anne was an eternal optimist who never met a stranger and brought great joy to all that new her.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Mary Annes honor to the American Cancer Society, Ovarian Research, 10501 Montgomery Blvd. NE., Albuquerque, NM 87111.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory.
