Marlene Schenck

March 18, 1950 — December 15, 2018

Marlene Kaui Mizell Schenck, born on March 18, 1950 passed away peacefully on December 15, 2018 in Roswell, NM. She was born in Honolulu, Hawaii to Robert and Ellen Mizell. Growing up in her beloved Hawaii she danced hula, surfed, picnicked and camped on the beach with her family, and she was runner up in the Miss Hawaii Pageant.

She met Roland Schenck, "The love of her life, the apple of her eye, the man of her dreams,", and they married 3 months later in Hawaii in 1970. Over the years they lived in Hawaii, The Philippines, Washington DC, Springfield, MD, Annapolis, MD, Ruidoso, NM, Irvine, CA, and Roswell, NM.

She had a fierce love for her family and friends and could always be counted on. She was the first to help, offer support and give advice to anyone who needed it. She remained positive in everything she faced and would never go anywhere without her beautiful smile.
Marlene is survived by her loving husband, Roland, her three daughters, Heidi White and husband Mac of San Antonio, Texas, Holly Shore and husband Jeremy of Austin, Texas, Heather Long and husband Josh of Roswell, New Mexico, two stepdaughters, Kim Schenck of Santa Monica, California and Audrey Bell and husband Alan of Corrales, New Mexico; eleven grandchildren, Jason Schenck and his wife Amanda, Stirling Bell, Sarintha Bell, Olivea Bell, Claire White, Ella White, Brooks Shore, Luke Shore, Kaia Shore, Cooper Long and Colton Long and one great-grandchild Samuel Schenck.

Her brothers Ray Mizell and wife Judy of Temecula, California and Robert Mizell and wife Tammy of Edmond, Oklahoma and her nieces and nephews Tammy Mizell Shanholtzer, Rick Mizell, Kehela Mizell Sellhorn and Jett Mizell.

Preceding her in death were her mother, Ellen Pang Mizell and her youngest brother, Maylon Mizell.

Donations may be made in her honor to St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, The Assistance League of Chaves County Assisteens, or The Assurance Home of Roswell.

The family wishes to thank all of the people who loved, encouraged and cared for her over the years.
