Marinelle Johnson Nelson, 93, was called to her eternal resting place on December 20, 2020. She entered this world on November 25, 1927 in , Roswell, New Mexico, born to Harvey and Olive Johnson. She is survived by her son, Dave Nelson; daughter, Suellen Christensen(her husband, Tex Christensen); grandchildren, Twyla Pyle-Butler (her husband, Shawn Butler), Candy Nelson-Collins (her husband, Ronnie); great grandchildren, Madison Buckner, Gregory Taylor (his wife, Sierra), Mckenzie Taylor, Devan Butler, Tatum Paris, 7 great, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces and cousins. Preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Olive; her husband, C.W. (Buddy) Nelson; her sister, Marian and Marian's daughter, Dawn; her brothers, Arthur Johnson and Ivan Johnson; her nephew, Arthur Johnson Jr and her granddaughter, Kodi Buckner.
Marinelle loved to do arts and crafts from painting, drawing and sewing, read, work on her family tree and her most favorite thing was her family. She was dedicated to her family, always putting her family first. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She helped on the family farm, hauling hay with her husband and she would make amazing, home cooked, farm fresh meals. In her earlier years, she was a member of the Eastern Star of New Mexico, she was a candy striper at St. Mary's hospital and she also worked with the FBI in Washington, DC with President Hoover.
Please join us in celebrating her life, Thursday, January, 7th, 2021 at 11 AM at South Park Cemetery, 3101 S. Main St in Roswell, New Mexico. We will only have a graveside service due to COVID19. We request that you please wear a mask.
