Marilyn Dianne Latimer Andress
Dexter resident, Marilyn Dianne Latimer Andress, 86, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2021 in Roswell, NM of natural causes.
Dianne was born November 26, 1934 in Dexter to Earl A. Latimer and Johnnie Parks Latimer. She graduated from Dexter High School in 1952 and married Ottie L. Andress, her husband of 67 years. After raising her four children, she returned to college to finish her degree from Eastern New Mexico University, earning a Bachelor of Science in Home Economics in 1981. She worked as a social worker, substitute teacher, and enjoyed assisting with care for her pecan orchard in Dexter.
Dianne was a collector of both antiques and family memories. She had a gift for storytelling, collecting genealogical research, and personal correspondence, often writing letters to her children and grandchildren. She enjoyed keeping up with fashion trends and raising African violets, which won several honors over the years at the Chaves County Fair. She also enjoyed a fine sense of humor.
Dianne was preceded in death by parents, Earl A. Latimer Sr. and Johnnie Parks Latimer, siblings, Audre Latimer King, Earl A. Latimer Jr. and Glenn Max Latimer, and great granddaughter, Elaina Rendall.
Dianne is survived by her loving family, including her husband, Ottie L. Andress of Dexter, NM, and her children: John Max Andress of Jemez Springs, NM, Alisa Andress McCord of Yorba Linda, CA, Earl Andress of Phoenix, AZ and Beverly Clemmons of McKinney, TX. Her grandchildren include Margeux Rendall, Prestyn McCord, Taralynn Andress, Matt McCord, Nolan Clemmons and Justin Andress in addition to five great grandchildren.
The family will hold a Memorial Celebration of Life this summer in Dexter, NM.
