Marie Gaston

Graveside services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Saturday, August 7, 2010 at South Park Cemetery, for Marie Burgoon Gaston, 95 of Roswell. The service will be conducted by her Grandson Stephen Mosteller. Marie passed away peacefully August 4, 2010 surrounded by her beloved daughter, Joan Bull, granddaughter Melanie Mosteller Trent and her longtime caregiver Cory.

Marie was a lifelong resident of Roswell. She was born August 11, 1914 to Frank and Lily Burgoon. She married Ken Gaston, January 2, 1935, He preceded her in death, in 1992.

Marie worked at Macons Drygoods as a newly wed. Ken and Marie ran Prices Dairys Retail milk routes for many years. In 1950, Marie brought Bordens Diary products to Chaves County area and ran the business until she retired. Later, she worked at Barb Annes Apparel for several years. Also, Ken and Marie bred and raced horses until shortly before Kens death.

She was also preceded in death by sisters, Blanche and Ruth Burgoon her brothers, Wesley, Gene, Carl, and Earl Burgoon her daughter Karen Gaston Mosteller and nephews, Carl Jr. and Ray Burgoon.

She is survived by her daughter Joan Marie Bull, her grandaughter Melanie Mosteller Trent, grandsons Stephen and Randall Mosteller, nieces Betty Ruth Diamond, Treva Perry, and Nell Shaver, nephew Willard Gaston, greatgrandsons, Audy and Jarot Newton and Mike Trent, and greatgreat grandchildren Jacob, Linzey and Dakota Newton and other extended family.

Special thanks to the Vista Care Hospice and her great care givers, Corey, Judith and Faylena.

All who knew her will remember Marie for her loving, generous heart and her devotion to family and friends.

In lieu of flowers, contributions or donations may be made to Vista Care Hospice, 400 N. Pennsylvania Suite 500, Roswell, NM 88201 and Children Hope Fund co Maloney Prent, 808 Sleepy Hallow Dr., Bailey, CO 80421 for the Bacoor Elementary School in Philippines.
