Maria Luisa Salinas, age 80, went to be with the Lord on January 10, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born on March 15, 1935 to Jose and Cruz Escobedo in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico. She married Guadalupe Salinas, in Chihuahua, Chihuahua, Mexico and together they raised six children. She loved to garden and always had beautiful flowers. She, also, loved to spend time with her grandchildren, play Bingo, and go to the Casino.
Preceded in death are her husband, Guadalupe Salinas; two of her children, Martha Olivia Salinas and Alfredo "Freddy"' Salinas; grandson, Guadalupe Salinas; her parents, Jose and Cruz Escobedo; and her siblings, Dolores Lerma, Diega Lerma, Ramon Martines, Juana Trujillo, and Mateo Lerma.
Left to cherish Maria's memory is her brother, Marcelino Lerma, and her children: Lupe Robles and husband, Manuel Robles; Joe Salinas and his wife, Annie Salinas; Harvey Salinas and his wife, Lisa Salinas; and Susie Hahn. Her grandchildren: Veronica Manriquez and husband, Jaime Manriquez; April Sosa; Valerie Salinas; Jose Robles; Mariana Lopez and husband, Joey Lopez; Michael Robles; Andrea Hahn; Joseph Hahn; Victoria Hahn; Freddy Salinas; Harvey Salinas Jr.; Gabriel Hernandez; Maria Isabel Benitez and husband, Gavino Benitez; Christal Martinez and husband, Juan Martinez; and Martha Salinas. Her great-grandchildren: Olivia and Emily Lopez, Anthony Zubiate, Yasmine Robles, Daniel Salinas, Joel and Analiza Vargas, Adam Lara, Lorenzo Cobos, Isabel and Preston Rangel, Mia Rodriguez, Gabriel and Nicholas Benitez, Alfredo and Linda Martinez, and Jordan Salinas.
Honorary pallbearers will be Jose Robles, Michael Robles, Joseph Hahn, Freddy Salinas, Harvey Salinas Jr., and Daniel Vargas.
The family would like to thank all hospice staff, especially her nurse, Anita and her caregiver, Alma and also thank you to the Joy Center staff, especially Joe and Angie. We gratefully appreciate everything you did for Mom, and Mom loved all of you. Everyone that knew her will greatly miss her.
A rosary will be recited at 9:00 am, Saturday, January 16, 2016 at St John's Catholic Church with a communion service following at 10:00 am with Deacon Ernesto Martinez officiating. Burial will take place at South Park Cemetery. The family will be accepting visitation from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm both Thursday and Friday, January 14 and 15, 2016.
