Margarita Molina Berrones
A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 18, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Margarita Molina Berrones, 92, who passed away November 14, 2009 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 1:30 p.m., Thursday, November 19, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Margarita was born February 22, 1917 in Dr. Arroyo, N.L. Mexico to Monico Molina and Canuta Morantes Molina. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as her brother Severo Molina, and sisters Jovita Reyes, Juanita Rendon, Maria Inez Rendon, and a special niece, Maggie Villa.
Margarita married Jose R. Berrones in Dr. Arroyo, N.L. Mexico on September 26, 1942. He survives her at the family home.
Margarita is also survived by her daughters; Aida G. Rosales and her husband Enrique Rosales of Roswell, NM., Sally B. Luna and her husband Jose G. Luna of Roswell, NM., her son; Ray Jaime Berrones and his wife Jenny Amicone of Roswell, NM. Her grandchildren: Ray Steven Berrones and wife Gina of Midland, Tx., James Allen Berrones of Ventura, CA., Billy Ray Berrones and wife Marla of Roswell, NM., Theresa Inez Rosales of Lubbock, TX., Esther Laura Rosales of Lubbock, TX., Letizia Noel Mendoza and husband Milton of San Antonio, TX., and Mariza Rochelle Hardin and husband Brian of Springfield, VA. Her great grandchildren: Alexandria Nicole Berrones, Corbin Blaine Berrones, Zachary Thomas Alva, Chandler James Berrones, Case Berrones, Sabian Berrones, Jasmine Renae Alva, Shelby Rey Berrones, Marisa Sophia Berrones, Monet Berrones, Degan Blade Berrones, Alexa Rochelle Mendoza, Ethan Amicone and Zachary Breeding. Her sisters: Ana Maria Nava de Molina of Monterrey, N.L.Mexico, Matilde Casarez of Roswell, NM., and Beatrice Bernal de Molina of Sta. Catarina, N.L. Mexico. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and a special friend Ida Berrones.
On November 7, 1944, she came to the United States and became a Citizen on June 25, 1995. Margarita has been a home maker for the majority of her life which she did with pride and love. While in Mexico, she was an elementary grade school teacher. In Roswell, she worked for New Mexico Military Institute in the mess hall and was employed by Mr. and Mrs. David Sorenson for 30 years as their housekeeper. She was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church and an active member of the Guadalupana Society.
To her family, she was known as NANI for her kindness, tenderness, compassion, love, generosity, and strength that radiated from her heart to everyone in her life. Her passion was to cook and feed everyone that came to her home. She loved to watch football, golf, National News and the Novelas.
Margarita was surrounded by the love and support of her family when she returned to her creator on November 14, 2009.
Pallbearers will be Steven Berrones, James Berrones, Billy Berrones, Enrique Rosales, Jose G. Luna, Gilbert Casarez, and Jack Villa. Honorary pallbearers will be her great grandchildren.
The family wishes to extend a special heartfelt thank you to Dr. Rader, Dr. Addi, Fresnius Dialysis Center, Especially Christina Anchondo and Hilda Perales. Her very special friends, Lupe Lopez, Lilliana Samuel, Olivia Villalobos, Rosie Lopez, Cerilia Solis, Cristina Lucero, Angelina Jimenez, Cirila Salas, Angie Brady and Leroy Sanchez.
