Magdalene Driscoll

Magdalen Driscoll died June 4, 2018. Her husband John preceded her in death in 1997 and is buried in Roswell.

Madge was a lifelong Catholic and practiced her faith regularly by attending mass at St. Peter's Catholic Church in Roswell. Following retirement John and Madge bought a home and moved to Roswell in 1989.

Magdalen was an only child of Joseph and Helena Bohlsen and born near Glendive, Montana. Her parents eventually moved to Tucumcari New Mexico and she spent part of her childhood there before moving to South Dakota. She graduated High School from Milbank High School in South Dakota. Following graduation, she attended Business College and eventually took a job with the federal government in Washington D.C. in late 1941. She married John Driscoll in Washington D.C. on June 27, 1946. The couple settled in Cedar Rapids, Iowa where they raised five children while she worked full time for Cherry Burrell Corporation as an executive secretary retiring in 1980.

She will be greatly missed by her many friends and family who kept in touch with her through emails on her personal computer, by phone and in person. She is survived by her five children, eight grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Daughter Marilyn Grants Pass Oregon, son Jerry Sheboygan Wisconsin, Larry Kansas City, Kansas, Kenneth Los Angeles, Ca., and daughter Theresa Quevedo of Rockford, IL.
