Mabel Ann Shamas, 89, was born in Flint, Michigan on November 10, 1923 to her parents, Joseph Joe and Almaza Alma Shamas. Mabel was the eldest of five children and was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters Gloria, Martha and Annie, and is survived by her brother, Joseph Joe Shamas Jr., a halfbrother, Ralph Shamas, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mabel graduated from business college after high school and was employed for over 30 years at Kirtland AFB in Albuquerque, NM and the Pentagon in Washington D.C. She lived most of her life in Albuquerque and was loved and respected by her family, friends, and associates for her generous ways, kind spirit, and living demeanor. She will be missed by all.
The family wishes to thank the staff of Villa Del Rey Retirement Inn, and Mission Arch Care and Rehabilitation Center for their kindness and professional care. Mabel will be cremated and her remains interred at Gate Of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum in Albuquerque, NM. A private memorial service for the family will be held at a later date.
