Mabel S. Rue Lopez

A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Ballard Chapel for Mabel S. Rue Lopez, 89, who passed away September 17, 2009 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell. A funeral mass is scheduled for 12:10 p.m., Monday, September 21, 2009 at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Mabel was born in Arabela, New Mexico to Simon Sanchez and Tonita Carabajal. Her parents have preceded her death as well as sons; Floyd, Andy, Joe, Felix, Jimmy, and Melvin Rue, daughter in law; Lupe Rue, two grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, five brothers and six sisters. Mabel was also preceded in her death by her first husband Dudley Rue and her second husband Antonio Lopez.

Mabel is survived by her sons; Amos Rue and wife Lupita of Ruidoso, NM., Louis Rue and wife Mary of Tucson, AZ., Richard Rue of Tucson, AZ., and Toby Rue and wife Viola of Ruidoso, NM., daughters; Irene Rodriquez and husband Manuel of Marfa, TX., and Charmaine Aldez. She also is survived by thirty-four grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Mabel was very active in raising her family, her favorite pastimes included crocheted, cooking and playing bingo. Mabel was a member of Assumption Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be all her grandchildren.
