M. Josephine Walker
A memorial will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday, September 21, 2007 at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovahs Witnesses, 1800 W. Bland, for Josephine Walker, 85, of Roswell who passed away September 14, 2007 at a local nursing home. Elder Mark Cillis will officiate.
Josephine was born on August 4, 1922 in Coleman County, Texas to Fannie and Fred Haas. Her parents preceded her in death.
She married Eugene Walker in Roswell on February 16, 1946. He preceded her in death.
Also preceding her in death were sisters, Oda Turnbough, Ann Zumback and Wilma Hite and brothers, Robert Haas and George Haas.
Survivors include her son, Carlton Walker of Roswell and daughters Cheryl Houston and her husband Gerald of De Ridder, Louisiana and Judi Seeley and her husband Robert of Roswell. Grandsons Jerry Hauston of Raleigh, North Carolina and Jacob Seeley of Roswell. Sisters, Inez Glass and Lois Blackwood. Brother in law, Keneth Walker and his wife Connie of Roswell.
Josephine studied the Bible with Millie Whitaker and was baptized as a Jehovahs Witness on April 11, 1993 in Carlsbad, NM.
She was a housekeeper for many years for various local families. She also worked at Mesa Middle School as a janitor helper alongside her husband Eugene who was the school custodian.
The family would like to thank friends and family, Dr. Robert Rader, Steve Smith, P.A., Casa Maria Staff, Vista Care Hospice Staff, Medical Floor Staff at medical center for their kindness and caring throughout this difficult time. Special thanks to Connie Walker who was Josephines loyal and loving friend for many years.
