Louis Ray Serna
Louis Ray Serna, 45, passed away on May 14, 2010 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center in Roswell, New Mexico after fighting a hard and courageous battle. A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Monday, May 17, 2010, at St. Johns Catholic Church. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 AM, Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Deacon Louis Romero will officiate. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Louis was born to Severo Serna, Jr. and Elia Miranda on August 24, 1964 in Roswell, New Mexico. His loving father preceded him in death.
Louis is survived by his mother, Elia, of Roswell, companion, Marie Barela, son Louis Ray Contreras and wife, Melanie and two children, Gabriel and Monique Contreras of Grants, New Mexico, son, Andrew Serna and daughter, Rachel Serna, and her son and Louiss grandson: Lil Andrew of Santa Fe, New Mexico, sisters: Josie Serna and Greg Salas, Angela Serna and companion Arthuro Contreras, Rachel and Rick Peralta, Maxine and Ruben Archuleta, JoAnn Serna, Vickie and husband, Jerry Betancur, all of Roswell, brothers: Manny and Barbie Miranda, Jimmy and June Serna, Mike Cyco Serna and companion Ester Linares, and Phillipe Jaramillo. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and a very special Aunt Delia and David Stogden.
Louis was also preceded in death by his Grandma Demecia Trujillo, Grandmother Josephine Miranda, Grandfather Max Miranda, uncles Max and Albert Miranda, nieces Tabitha and Geneva Serna, cousin, Tony Miranda, brothers, Mike Serna, and infant sister Geneva, and infant brother Freddy.
Pallbearers will be Ruben Archuleta, Rick Peralta, Louie Salcido, Ray Contreras, Arthuro Contreras, Johnny Peralta, and Manny Archuleta. Honorary pallbearers are Ruben Archuleta, Jr., Roger Orona, JoAnn Serna, Max Archuleta, Richard Horton, and Greg Salas.
Louis loved his low rider Cutlass. It was his baby. He also loved listening to his oldies jams and Spanish music.
