Loreto Lara Guevara Garza

Loreto Lara Guevara Garza was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend.

She was born December 10, 1933, in Carrizal, Chihuahua, Mexico, the daughter of Alberto Lara Sr. and Cayetana Cervera, and was a lifelong resident of Hagerman, New Mexico.

 She is survived by her children John (Berta) Guevara, Betty Guevara, Jim (Carol) Guevara, Ben (Thom) Guevara, Reynaldo Garza Jr., Edwardo Ramirez, Gloria Noles, and Lucy Arenivas; grandchildren Renee (Vicky) Guevara, Benjamin (Rebecca) Guevara, Ailene Guevara, Caroline Guevara, Alaina Grace (Joseph) Clark, and Samuel Guevara; and great-grandchildren Christopher Guevara, Mickey (Hazel) Clark and Sean (Eliya) Clark. Her sisters Dolores Witt of El Paso, TX, and Elodia De LaRosa, brother and sister-in-law Carl and Cloraida Guevara of Albuquerque, and sister-in-law Viola Martinez of Hagerman, along with many nieces, nephews, and friends also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husbands Reynaldo Garza and Ismael (Jimmy) Guevara, brothers Alberto Lara Jr. and Alfredo Ramirez Sr., and sisters Rosa Madrid and Elena Daniels.

Her faith was important to her and she was a lifelong member of Saint Catherine's Catholic Church in Hagerman, New Mexico, as well as a longtime member of the Hagerman Joy Center.

A visitation will be held at Saint Catherines Catholic Church in Hagerman, New Mexico on Tuesday, January 28, 2025, starting at 4:00 pm with a Rosary to follow at 6:00 pm. The funeral service will be held the following day at Saint Catherines Catholic Church, Wednesday, January 29, 2025, at 10:00am. Loreto will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband Reynaldo Garza, at the Hagerman Cemetery, after the funeral service.
