Lona Gertrude Wewers Wall

A Vigil service with rosary is scheduled for 7:30 pm, Monday, July 30, 2012 at Assumption Catholic Church for Lona Gertrude Wewers Wall 93, passed away on Thursday, July 26, 2012 in Roswell, NM. Memorial rite with mass is scheduled at 12:10 pm, Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at Assumption Catholic Church with Father Joseph Pacquing officiating. Lonas cremains will be buried at a later date at Riverside Memorial Park in Jacksonville, FL.

Lona was born February 13, 1919 in Morrison Bluff, AR to William Wewers and Apollonia Raible. Lona married James Seymour Wall on July 5, 1947 in Fort Smith, AR. He preceded her in death in 1992. She is also preceded in death by her son James S. Wall, Jr. and her seven brothers and two sisters.

Lona is survived by her daughters Cynthia Schmidt and husband Allan of Rathdrum, ID, Mary Wall of Frisco, TX, Jane Crowder and husband Thom of Roswell, NM, and Ann DeStefanis and husband Paul of Miami, FL and her grandchildren Scot Crowder and wife Celia, Melissa Cardinuto and husband Nicholas, Susan Pruitt and husband Sky, Kyle DeStefanis and Chase DeStefanis.

Lona was a Registered Nurse, graduating from St. Edwards Hospital School of Nursing in Ft. Smith, AR. She was a Supervisor of Surgical Nurses at St. Vincents Hospital in Jacksonville, FL. Lona was a devout Catholic and a member of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary parish where she was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Alzheimers Association, PO Box 96011, Washington, DC 200906011.
