Lloyd Eugene Worley
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, January 18, 2008, at South Park Cemetery for Lloyd Eugene Worley, 86 of Roswell who passed away January 14, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Pastor Onsy Wicker and Geary Miller will officiate.
Lloyd was born on June 12, 1921 in Blum, Texas to David Stratton and Pearl Edna Worley. His parents have preceded him in death as well as five sister and 3 brothers.
Lloyd married Barbara E. Worley on April 20, 1946 in Carlsbad, NM. She survives him at the family home.
He is also survived by three daughters: Paula Jean Worley and Sondra Lynn Worley both of Anaheim, CA, and Rebecca Ann Palmer and husband Martin of Mill Creek, Washington; one brother Earl Worley and wife Mary of Roswell; two sisters Louise Mason and Stella Lagere of San Benita, Texas as well as numerous nieces and nephews
Lloyd served in the 13th Air force in the South Pacific during WWII serving 42 months. After serving he worked for NUMEX Refinery in Artesia. Lloyd and Barbara moved to Southern California in 1949 and worked for Richfield Oil Refinery in Wilmington, CA. Richfield merged with Atlantic Refinery Becoming ARCO. The family then moved to Bellingham, Washington in 1971 to help start a new refinery being built in Ferndale, Washington. He retired from there in 1983. They then moved to Roswell in 1986. Lloyd was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church
