Today the world lost a very good man. He was dedicated to his family and to his country. He proudly served his country during WWII in the India, Burma, China campaign defending his country when some of those people who he defended could have cared less about him and his family. He did it anyway. He sacrificed his time, his energy, his body and health to provide for his family and enable them to have a better life. He was proud of his family and quick to tell others about them. He loved to laugh and joked and played cards and dominos, even if he occasionally cheated. He taught us to value our family. The path to hurting his family went through him. I guess we are a lot like him in that respect. He was our inspiration for endurance and perseverance. He said Anything worth having is worth working for. Nothing worthwhile comes easy. Our lives will be a little less bright without him but he will remain a warm spot in our heart knowing he is reunited with Mercy, his wife of 47 years. Lloyd Wilson Chaves Sr. September 19, 1923 to May 22, 2011. May you rest in peace Dad. We love you.
Pallbearers will be his sons Lloyd, Gary, Terry and Ronny Chaves.
