Lillie Bejarano, age 95, passed away peacefully in her sleep at home on Monday, October 20, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Feliciano and Teresa Ortiz of Del Rio, Texas, her three brothers and one sister also of Del Rio, Texas and her husband of 72 years, Juan Bejarano.
Lillie is survived by her sons; Arnold and wife Letha of Roswell, Robert and wife Minerva, of Las Cruces, and Orlando of Roswell; three daughters; Nancy Melton and her husband Dave of Odessa, TX, Mary Carey and her husband Robert of Brownsville, Texas and Virginia Ginny Bejarano and her husband Tim Lesley of Tijeras, NM; fifteen grandchildren and many great and great, great grandchildren.
Lillie and Juan moved their family to Roswell in 1940. They were active in El Calvario Baptist Church for many years.
Lillie was a member of the Salvations Army Home League. She volunteered at the First Baptist Church clothing bank.
The joy in Lillies life the past 7 years was interacting with all the wonderful people at the Joy Senior Center Adult Day Care Program. She was lovingly cared for by Betsy and Alma and all the other volunteers and staff.
In appreciation for the wonderful care given to their mother, her children request all donations be made to the Joy Senior Center, Adult Day Care Program in lieu of flowers.
There will be a funeral service 2:00p.m., Friday, October 24, 2008 at the Ballard Chapel. Mario Hernandez former Minister of El Calvario Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her Grandsons.
