Leo Carrillo

January 18, 1940 — October 26, 2006

Leo Jesus Carrillo

A rosary will be recited for Leo S. Carrillo on Monday, October 30, 2006, at 7:00 p.m., at St. Johns Catholic Church, who passed away October 26, 2006, at his home surrounded by his family. Funeral services will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 31, 2006, at 10:00 a.m. Father Juan Montoya O.F.M. will officiate. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Leo was born in Roswell, New Mexico on January 18, 1940, to Leopoldo Carrillo and Dolores Lola Carrillo. He is preceded in death by both parents and an infant brother, Armando Carrillo.

On February 4, 1961, he married the love of his life, Crusita Velasquez, in Las Cruces, New Mexico, who survives him at the family home.

Leo is also survived by his two daughters: Sandra Zamora and husband Lolly; Jo-Ann Romero and husband Roy; four grandchildren: Jason and Jennifer Zamora; Vanessa and Eric Romero; sister: Eva Tellez and husband Bobby; brothers: Ermando Carrillo and wife Beckey; Alfredo Carrillo and wife Dolores; Pete Carrillo and wife Dillie; Eddie Carrillo and wife Dianne.

Before retiring in January 2005, he was employed by Southern Wine Spirits, which was previously known as Richards Distributing. During his lifetime, he instilled family values to all who came to know him, most especially those who were closest to him. Leos biggest attributes were his work ethic and love for his wife and two daughters. All the effort he put forth was given without reservation to enable expanded privileges to his entire family. The laughter and smiles Leo brought to those around him will always be remembered in everyones heart through his unbounded humor.

Pallbearers will be: Ermando Carrillo, Alfredo Carrillo, Pete Carrillo, Eddie Carrillo, Lolly Zamora, Roy Romero, Jason Zamora and Eric Romero. Honorary pallbearers will be: Bobby Tellez, Joe Velsquez, Jr. Adan Velsquez, George Giron, Fermin Velsquez, Alfred Velsquez, Jr. Ryc Velsquez and Robert Lopez.

Our most sincere gratitude to Dr. Rader, Dr. Chechani, Steve Smith, PA and their entire staff, Dr. Kaleekal, and all nursing staff that was involved in his care.
