Memorial services are scheduled for 1:30 pm, Thursday, September 1, 2011 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Lee Roy Rhodes 88, who passed away Monday, August 29, 2011 at Sunset Villa Care Center. Rev. Don Johnston will be officiating. Lee was cremated according to his wishes.

Lee was born September 29, 1922 in Manilla, Ark. to William Joseph and Mary Rhodes. His parents preceded him death. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Jack, Mike, Woodrow, Ray and James Rhodes and his sisters Opal, Beatrice, Ruby, Bernese, Nevada and Zeby. Lee married Wanda Haley on May 19, 1949 in Hagerman, NM. She survives him at the family home in Hagerman.

Also surviving him are his sons Gary Dale Rhodes and wife Carol of Farmington, NM and Darrell Dean Rhodes and wife Merri of Midland, TX brother John Rhodes and wife Bertha of Hagerman, NM and grandchildren Neal Rhodes, Ashley Rhodes, Nolan Rhodes, Christopher Haley Rhodes and Sarah Rhodes and great grandsons Jack and Brian.

Lee was a lifelong resident of Hagerman, NM where he was a farmer. He served in the United States Army during WWII. Lee was past member of Farm Bureau. He really like to fish and hunt with his sons.

In lieu of flower the family is requesting donations be made to the Hagerman Joy Center, 500 W. Argyle Street, Hagerman, NM 88232.
