Laura Montoya

Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Friday, December 18, 2015 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Laura Montoya, 51, who passed away Friday, December 11, 2015 in Lubbock, TX. Pastor Tim Aguilar of Church on The Move will be officiating with burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Laura was born June 27, 1964 in Roswell, NM to Vince Alvarado and Prestinia Sedillo. She is preceded in death by her brother Richard Sedillo.

Those left to cherish her memory are her mother Pristina Sedillo; sons Richard Montoya and wife Roxanne, Vincent Chavez and wife Brigitte, Johnny Muniz and wife Deborah, Joseph Muniz and Matthew Barela; daughters Vanessa Nessmith and husband Beufort, Santana Montoya, Sabrina and husband Moises Orona and Alexandra Barela; brothers Vince Alvarado and wife Kathy and Anthony Alvarado and wife Roxy; sixteen grandchildren and two on the way.

Laura was a loving, dedicated mother of nine who excelled at anything she put her mind to. Her creativity soared as she enjoyed everything from painting and remodeling to baking custom cakes for loved ones. Laura had the ability to make every occasion special and could make something out of nothing. With a heart of gold she showed love to everyone around her. An angel on earth with grace, beauty and strength forever in our hearts.
