Larry “Candyman” Candelaria born May 9, 1953 passed away in his wife’s arms when he was called home Tuesday, March 26, 2024. He was the life of the party, had such a huge heart helping anyone and everyone in need at any time no matter what. He never met a stranger and was loved by so many. He loved dancing, singing, traveling, Tejano, Conjunto, and all genres of music as well as the artists who sang and “Kicked Ass” performing. He lit up any room he walked into.
He was preceded in death and welcomed at the gates of heaven by his Mother Dolores Candelaria, Father Hilario “Layo” Candelaria, his Ma Concha and Pa Lico, Tio Luis, Brothers Christopher Candelaria and Ray Candelaria, Father-in-Law Alcario “Ike” Marquez, his “Sunshine” Julie Lucero and very special friend Nena Carnero, and his buddy Frank Lucero.
Left to cherish his memory are his Wife Linda Candelaria of Roswell, NM; Mother-in-Law Cecelia Marquez of Roswell, NM; Daughters Jessica Candelaria-Espinoza and husband Paul of Gilbert, AZ; Vanessa Candelaria of San Diego, CA; Sons Mike Candelaria and wife Shanna of San Diego, CA; Henry Candelaria of Roswell, NM; Brother Chuy Candelaria and wife Tonie of Roswell, NM; Sisters Lisa Munoz and husband Eddie of Alamogordo, NM; Bonnie Grubb of Alamogordo, NM; Brothers and Sisters in law Joe and Candy Samario of Roswell, NM; Clara Samario and Arnold Madril of Roswell, NM; Grandchildren Sebastian Herrera and wife Sylvia, of Mesa, AZ; Eric Espinoza of Gilbert, AZ; Destiny Espinoza and Chris Porter of Gilbert AZ; Mikaela Rice of San Diego, CA; Alexis Eldridge and Danny Guzman of San Diego, CA; Tony Candelaria of San Diego, CA; Nevaeh Chisolm of San Diego, CA; Alyssa Candelaria of San Diego, CA; and Amorette Espinoza of Gilbert, AZ; Great-grandchildren, Armando Diaz, Christopher Porter Jr., Grayson Herrera, Credence Porter, and Cairhee “Baby” Porter. We lost a GREAT, GREAT MAN, he is already missed beyond measure. His Legacy will live on through his children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and by all who were blessed to be in his circle. Until we see you again…. We LOVE You our “Candyman” Rest Easy Babe, Daddy’O, Popz, Dad, Pampo we’ll take it from here.
