A rosary will be held at 11:30 am, Saturday, November 2, 2024 at Assumption of The Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church with a memorial mass to follow at 12:00 pm.
Katie Harton was born Kathleen Elizabeth Jerrick to Francis and Maxine Jerrick. She was the second child and eldest daughter of six children. Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents and her sister Mary Ann.
She is survived by her siblings Tom Jerrick (Ellen), Susan Fattor (Terry) Mike Jerrick and Joann Dunning (Glen) and her 11 nieces and nephews. Kathleen went to St. Mary’s High School and was the school Salutatorian and the editor of the school newspaper and attended the University of Dallas her freshman year.
Katie was the proud mother and survived by her five children Joe Harton (Kim), of Roswell, NM; Mary Kay Harton (Harold Kloepfer), of Chicago, Illinois; Patrick Harton (Ann) of Longmont, Colorado; Kelly Munson (Keith) of Tucson, Arizona; and Hilary Toothe (Nelson) of Fairport, New York. She is survived by 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Katie was active in the Roswell community and a devout member of Assumption Catholic Church. She served on the Food for Funerals committee, participated in Perpetual Adoration shifts (following the example of her mother, Maxine) and filled in as secretary when needed. Katie worked for the Girl Scouts of America and New Mexico’s Childcare Resource and Referral organizations. She was a proud member of PEO.
Katie is survived by her husband, of 61 years, Robert Hugh (Butch) Harton. She will always be remembered as a strong woman of faith and integrity and known for her kindness and generosity.
