After a short illness, Kathaleen Jane Drum, surrounded by her loving family, made her journey to her Heavenly Father Friday, April 5, 2013. Kathaleen was born in Homeworth, Ohio, December 13, 1925 to Lydia A. Grimm and James Oatie Grimm. Kathaleen Grimm and Paul David Drum were married July3, 1945 at the Simpson Methodist Church in Canton, Ohio. They were married for 67 years.
Kathaleen and Paul moved to Las Cruces, NM in 1949 where Paul attended NMSU and Kathaleen worked at White Sands Missile Range. They moved to Dexter, NM in 1952. Kathaleen worked at Dexter Lumber and Hardware, Villa Solano, and Roswell Rehabilitation Center from which she retired.
Kathaleen was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter, NM. She taught Sunday School, sang in the choir and was on the church board over the years.
She was preceded in death by her mother Lydia A. Grimm, fatherJames Oatie Grimm, sistersMary Myers, Mildred Papageorge and John Arthers, all of Ohio.
Kathaleen is survived by her husband of 67 years, Paul David Drum who resides in Dexter, NM, sonPaul Douglas Drum from Artesia, NM, son James Oatie Drum from Roswell, NM and daughter Kathryn Renee Drum from Quemado NM. Her surviving siblings are Betty Kurtz from Massilon, OH and her twin brother, Kenneth Grimm from Canton, OH.
Kathaleen love and cherished five grandchildren, 11 great children, 10 nephews and eight nieces.
Kathaleen was a blessing to all that knew her. She loved everyone she met, and walked in the steps of Jesus, loving all judging none.
Services are Wednesday, April 10, 2013 at the United Methodist Church in Dexter, NM at 10:00 A.M.. Grave side service will follow directly after at South Park Cemetery in Roswell, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations to the American Cancer Society or Loaves and Fishes in Hagerman, NM would make Kathaleen smile from her new home in Heaven.
