A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 P.M., Monday, April 15, 2013 at the St. Johns Catholic Church for Julian Gutierrez Melendez, 92, of Roswell who passed away Saturday, April 13, 2013 at his home surrounded by his loved ones. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 A.M., Tuesday, April 16, 2013 also at St. Johns Catholic Church.

Julian Gutierrez was born on July 1, 1920 in San Gregorio, Chihuahua to Jesus and Josefa Gutierrez Melendez. His parents and his wife Velia Molina Garcia Gutierrez who he married in 1949 in Parral, Chihuahua preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his brothers Ramon, Humberto and Ruben and his sister Delia Gutierrez Melendez.

Julian is survived by his sons Julian Gutierrez and wife Donna of Pennsylvania, and Sergio Eduardo Gutierrez and wife Nora of Phoenix, AZ. daughters Josefina Chaves and husband Lloyd of Roswell, Velia Velasco and husband Armando of Parral, Mexico, Blanca Estela Tarazona and husband Arturo of Las Cruces, NM, Maria Teresa Leon and husband Rigoberto of Phoenix, AZ. grandchildren Christopher Lloyd Chaves, Nubia Yahare Tarazona, Julian Arturo Tarazona, Alejandro Julian Gutierrez, Sergio Dominque Gutierrez, Genica Eufemia Gutierrez, Martin Nicolas Leon and Joaquin Alonzo Leon greatgrandchildren Analycia Velia Leon, Martin Alonzo Leon, Julian Michael Leon and Nicholas Brian Leon. He is survived by his brothers in Mexico, Ramon Gutierrez, Adalberto Gutierrez and his sister Josefina Cano.

Those serving as pallbearers are Julian Gutierrez, Sergio Edward Gutierrez, Julian Arturo Tarazona, Sergio Dominique Gutierrez, Martin Nicolas Leon, Joaquin Alonzo Leon, Christopher Lloyd Chaves, Alejandro Julian Gutierrez, Genica Gutierrez and Nubia Tarazona.


Se ha marchado nuestro hroe a reunirse con nuestra amada Tita. Jefito, pancholin Loln, Iia eran algunos nombres con que sus hijos y nietos se referan a l. Don Julin fue un hijo responsable con sus padres, lleno de sabidura y amante de los animales, especialmente sus perros y gatos, y ms an de las plantes de su jardn donde pasaba horas enteras regando. Uno de sus mayores orgullos era el haber visto a todos sus hijos educados y profesionales, ya que lo hicieron el y su esposa con un gran esfuerzo. Su mayor felicidad la trajeron todos sus nietos ya que los adoraba y deca que era el amor ms extraordinario que un ser humano poda Sentir. La herencia que nos deja no es material, sino cosas como la honestidad y el amor al trabajo. Dios te lo suplicamos recbelo y reunei con todos los seres que l amaba y que ya estn contigo. Papa y abuelo te llevaremos en nuestro corazn y permanecers en nuestra vida diaria como una estrella brillando en el cielo. Que Dios te bendiga, y desde el halito del cielo brindanos tu ayuda. Te queremos y gracias Dios por habernos dado a ese padre maravilloso.
