Juanita M. Fierro
A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. on Monday, March 15, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Juanita M. Fierro, 78, who passed away March 12, 2010 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Fr. Charlie Martinez will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Juanita was born on March 27, 1931 in Otis, NM to Pedro Fierro and Magdalena Martinez who have preceded her in death. Also preceded her in death is a brother: Manuel Mike Fierro and two sisters: Tomasa Vasquez and Cecilia Valadez.
Juanita is survived by her son, Larry Fierro and his wife Tricia of Roswell, NM. her brother Gilbert Fierro, who she raised and was like a son to her, and her three sisters Epifania Cruz, Connie Matta and Sophia Perez all of Roswell, NM., her grandchildren Jonathon Fierro and Brianna Fierro. Also survive her are numerous nieces and nephews.
Juanita has lived in Roswell since 1980. She worked as a waitress at Furrs Cafeteria before it closed. Juanita enjoyed spending time with her son and his family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed spending time with her sisters. Juanita was of the Catholic faith.
Pallbearers will be Fred Matta Jr., Pete Hernandez, P.J. Hernandez, Joshua Hernandez, Albert Silva Jr. and Eric Lucero.
