Juanita Leaton Apodaca

A prayer service is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, September 26, 2008 at the Ballard Chapel for Juanita Leaton Apodaca, 93, of Roswell who passed away September 24, 2008 at a local care center. A funeral is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, September 27, 2008 at the Ballard Chapel. Rev Roberto Maneillas of Calvary Spanish Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Juanita was born on February 8, 1915 to Richard Leaton and Luz Lujan Leaton. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as a son Waldo Navarrette, a grandson, Fernando Urquides Jr., a great grandson, Johathan Scott, her brothers, Guillermo Leaton, Mando Leaton, Nasario Leaton, Abel Leaton, Ignacio Leaton and Adan Leaton, and her sisters, Pilar Leaton, Isabel Perales, and Augustina Herrera.

Juanita is survived by her son: Ernesto De Los Santos and wife Mary Helen; her daughters: Ernestina Candelaria and husband Eddie, Delia Urquides and Lucy Barela and husband Cruz; as well as 20 grandchildren, 45 great grandchildren and 32 great, great grandchildren.

Juanita was a life long resident of Roswell moving here when she was two weeks old from San Angelo, TX. She was of the Baptist faith and attended El Calvario.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth De Los Santos, Greg Barela, Edward Candelaria, Ricky Urquides, Enrique Murillo Jr., Jay De Los Santos.
