A graveside service will be held at 2:30 PM on Friday, October 14, 2011, at South Park Cemetery for Joyce Kay Whitt, 62, who passed away on October 10, 2011 at the University Hospital in Albuquerque, N. M. Officiating the service will Rick Hale of Grace Community Church.
Joyce was born on June 18,1949 in Russellville, Arkansas to Archie Lee and Lucy Iva Price Griffith. Joyce had lived in the Pecos valley since 1980 and was married to Edward Whitt of Dexter, N. M.
In addition to her husband Edward, Joyce is survived by sons James Edward Whitt and his wife Polly of Dexter, N.M. and Bobby Lee Whitt and wife Sheri of Roswell. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Anna Belle Grace, Wyatt James, Emmaline Joy, and Amelia Lee Whitt. Also, brothers and sistersinlaw Wayne and Ginger Carter of Clarksville, Arkansas, Louis and Shirley Pearce of Roswell, and Mary Hadder of Roswell and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joyce was a great cook and loved to spend time cooking for her family and her many friends.
