A rosary for Josie H. Medina, 68, of Roswell, NM will be recited at 6:00 PM, Monday, June 8, 2015 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, June 9, 2015 at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery. The family will be accepting visitation from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Saturday, June 6, 2015 and 8:00 AM till service time Monday, June 8, 2015 at Ballard Funeral Home. Josie passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2015 in Albuquerque, NM.

Josie H. Medina was born February 14, 1947 in Roswell, NM to Felix Medina and Sirilda Hernandez who preceded her in death.

Josie is survived by her companion of 37 years, Roberto Varela; daughter, Tina Medina, sons: Felix Reese and Larry Medina of Roswell, NM; Roberto Varela and Priscilla of Lubbock, TX; Jose Varela, Gregorio Varela, and Jesse Joe Samario. Also surviving her are, granddaughters: Takara, Shauna, Kimberly, Reyna, Allyah, Crystal, Brittney, Anna, Deseri, Serenity, and Lori; grandsons: Eric, Dominic, Jesse Joe Jr., Ernesto, Francisco, Calvin, Xavier, Larry, Brandon, and Jonathan ; great grandkids: Robert, Jason, Alissa, Nickie, Mia, Cayden, Mariah, Lucius, Sergio, Ally'anna, Jaeden, Eli, Javier, Angel, Avianna, Alebreyanna, Emmit, and Johnathan. Josie's surviving brothers are, Louis Medina of Roswell, NM; Anastacio Medina of Sulphur Springs; Conce Contreras of Stockton, CA; sister, Elvira Howard of Detroit, MI.

Josie is preceded in death by her brothers, Preciano Medina, Robert Medina, Catarino Morales Jr., Jesse Morales; her sisters, Viola Gantt, Mary Medina, and great grandson, Leroy Madrid.

Josie was a faithful member of St. John's Catholic Church.

Pallbearers will be, Robert Leyva, Efrem Contreras, Johnny Berry, Jose Rivera, Antonio Ocon, and Miguel Chavarria.

Honorary Pallbearers are: Albert Hernandez, Eric Madrid, Calvin Reese, Xavier Reese, Dominic Villa and Rojelio Chavarria.
