Josie Smith Montoya, 86, left to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on February 27, 2013. A memorial service will be held Tuesday March 5 at 7:00PM at Ballard Funeral Home, with the funeral service on Wednesday March 6 at 10:00 AM. Her son Rick will officiate.

Josie was born on September 18 1926, to Adela Gonzalez Smith and Andres Smith who preceded her in death.
On December 1 1943 she married Dick Trujillo Montoya which was the start of a beautiful marriage lasting 69 years. Together they had 6 children whom she loved dearly. Josie loved her Lord with all her heart. She was a prayer warrior and loved to read her bible. She enjoyed singing and wrote 3 beautiful songs of worship and praise. Josie gave love to all. She was the heart of her family. Josie is survived by the LOVE OF HER LIFE Dick Montoya of the family home, sons Ernest and wife Rita, Rick, Ronnie and wife Irene, Daughters Yolanda Londie and husband Johnny Franco, Loretta and husband Fred Hernandez, Margaret Margie and husband Lawrence Sanchez. 33 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 26 greatgreat grandchildren, sister inlaw Rickie Smith, and several special nieces and nephews all of whom she loved and loved her.

She was also preceded in death by beloved daughter in law Tina Montoya, brothers Epifanio Smith and Nasario Smith, sisters Erlinda Gallegos and Susanna Thompson, nephews Tim and Epifanio Gallegos, Alex Thompson, Jerry, Anthony, and Richard Lucero.

Pallbearers will be grandsons Richard Montoya Chris Montoya, Gino Romero, Jason Smolky, Gabriel Smolky, and Isaac Montoya.

Honorary Pallbearers will be grandsons Fernando Montoya, Rich Montoya, Chris Romero, Larry Sanchez, EJ Sanchez, Richard Prudencio, and BobbyRay Prudencio.

In lieu of flowers contributions can be made to the Billy Graham Evangelistic Association.
A celebration of life reception will follow immediately after at 1211 W First St.
