JOSEPH PATRICK PURCELL

December 10, 1982-January 21,2024

Joseph (Joe) Purcell was born December 10, 1982 to Charles Purcell and Vicki (Janecka) Purcell in Roswell, New Mexico. He was a member of St. Peter Catholic Church. He attended religious education classes and received all his sacraments at St. Peter Church. He was educated at Roswell schools and graduated from Goddard High School in 2001. He later attended community college in Albuquerque from 2011-2013. After he finished his education in Albuquerque he moved to Denver, Colorado and lived there until November 2023. He worked as a design engineer in Denver during that time. He worked on a Facebook plant in 2019-2020 in Omaha, Nebraska. He was currently employed by Corbins Electric in Rio Rancho on a new Intel plant as a field engineer. He was well liked by his co-workers.

Joe is survived by his parents Charles and Vicki Purcell of Roswell; his daughter Karly Purcell of Albuquerque, NM; his son Jakob Purcell of Albuquerque, NM; his sister Melinda Purcell (Stephen); brothers Mike Purcell (Jeffe) of Roswell, Christopher Purcell (Melissa) of Denver, CO and little brother Joshua Purcell of Denver, they were best friends and roommates for several years. He is also survived by his beloved pet Nala; two special nephews Brody Purcell of Roswell and Dylan Walters of Denver, CO; many aunts, uncles and cousins. He was predeceased by his grandmothers Beth Stephens and Florene Eaton and his grandfathers Walter Janecka and Ed Purcell.

Joe was a fun-loving person with a big heart. He loved the outdoors which included hunting, fishing, hiking and cycling in Colorado. Joe will always be loved and missed.  May you find peace in your heavenly home.

A memorial mass will be held at St. Peter Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 31, 2024 at 2:00 pm with internment at St. Peter Columbarium.
