A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Friday, May 14, 2010 at St. Judes Catholic Church in San Patricio, NM for Jose D. Montes, 97 of Glencoe, NM who passed away May 12, 2010 at a local care center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 15, 2010 at St. Judes Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Judes Cemetery. Deacon Bob Racicot will officiate.
Jose was born on November 14, 1912 in San Patricio, NM to Jesus Montes and Tomasita Aldaz Montes. His parents have preceded him in death as well as two sisters: Ola Garcia and Lucia Gonzales and five brothers: Clovis Montes, Eloy Montes, Serapio Montes, Albert Montes and Fred Montes.
Jose is survived by his wife: Emilia Montoya Montes of Glencoe, NM his sons: Alfred Montes and Eloy Montes of Glencoe, NM his brother: Jesus Montes and his wife Lucia of Alamogordo, NM his sisters: Amanda Torrez of Hondo, NM and Emma Richardson and husband Albert of Ruidoso Down, NM his grandchild: Delfina White of Porterville, CA and his great grandchild: R.J. Johnson of Porterville, Ca.
Jose was a life long resident of Glencoe and was a member of St. Judes Catholic Church. He worked as an orderly for the State of New Mexico.
