Jose Campos

A Vigil with Rosary is scheduled for 4 PM, Monday, December 9, 2013 at Ballard Chapel for Jose Campos, 91, who passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Mission Arch Care Center. Funeral Rite with Mass is scheduled for 9:30 AM, Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Rev. Joseph Pacquing of Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church will be presiding. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Jose was born November 18, 1922 in Seguin, Texas to Clemente Campos and Edubejen Morales. His parents preceded him in death. Jose was also preceded in death by his sons Larry P. Campos and Joey Campos brothers Chale Campos, Abel Campos, Julian Campos, Efrain Campos, Lolo Campos and Jesus Campos sisters Maria Flores, Anita Martinez and Emilia Gonzales grandson Matthew Ortega and his great grandson Nico Ortego.

Jose was a hardworking man, and industrial accident did not hold him back at age 23. He went on to be a selfemployed truck driver with only one arm which was crippled and his legs were injured. When he retired his life consisted to reading his bible and helping others. He opened his humble home to those who needed one, never turning away anyone.

Campos and wife Jane daughter Jinnie Ortega and husband Charlie sisters Virginia Rodriguez Romero and Josephina Tejerina grandchildren Michael Ortega and wife Birgit of Rio Rancho, NM, Andrew Ortega, Rick Ortega, Rueben Ortega all of Roswell, NM, Julian Ortega and wife Angela, Pauline Steadman and husband Bill of Denver CO, Lisa Hurtado and husband Jose of Rio Rancho, NM and Tito J. Campos and wife Louise of Denver, CO great grandchildren Mikey Ortega and wife Nicole, Chris Ortega of Rio Rancho, NM, Andy Ortega, Twyla Ortega White, Starlarose Ortega all of Roswell, NM, Marina Ortega of Gilbert, AZ, Elena Ortega, Jakob Ortega of Denver, CO, Larry Reynolds and wife Jamie of Phoenix, AZ, Christie Rangel and husband Rick of Waco, TX, Eric Robertson and wife Brittany of Albuquerque, NM, Jessica Lopez and husband Michael of Rio Rancho, NM, Alyssa Campos and Joseph Campos of Denver, CO greatgreat grandchildren Raelene Dubois Rangel, Carlos Medrano, Miguel Medrano, Rick Rangel all of Waco, TX, Tyran White, Genivieve White of Roswell, NM, Evryn Robertson of Rio Rancho, NM, Xzekiels Ortega of Roswell, NM, Adrianna Lucero, Christina Lucero, Domenik Lopez, Emelia Lopez, Juvian Ortega, Arralle Ortega all of Rio Rancho, NM, Braelynn Reynolds of Phoenix, AZ and Jayce McBroom of Rio Rancho, NM. Also surviving are his special friends Juan Ontiveros and family.

Serving as pallbearers are Rueben Ortega, Julian Ortega, Mikey Ortega, Andrew Ortega, Tito J. Campos and Andy Ortega. Honorary pallbearers are all of his grandchildren, great grandchildren an greatgreat grandchildren.
