Jon Meeks

Jon Alan "Doc" Meeks died unexpectedly in Roswell, New Mexico on June 9, 2015 at the age of 72.
Doc is survived by his wife, Betty Ann Meeks, daughter Darcy Naylor and husband Shannon Naylor, son Jack Meeks and wife Rebecca Meeks, daughter Sara Daulong and husband Sammy Daulong and daughter Laura Meeks. Of those who called him Poppa are; Jon Mounce-Naylor, Audrey Meeks, Chase Thompson, Jaxson Thompson, Liam Meeks and Shawn Naylor. Doc is also survived by his son David Taylor and daughter Julieanna Taylor- Stuckey of South Carolina. Doc is preceded in death by his father, Jack William Meek of Roswell, NM. Surviving Doc is his mother, Zoe Marie Thompson, sister Harvalena Holladay, both of Lubbock, Texas and Gene and Connie Crawford, of Roswell, New Mexico.
Doc was born on September 10, 1942 in Roswell, New Mexico to Zoe Marie Thompson and William Jack Meek. He began his Naval career at the young age of 17 and retired in 1981 as Chief Petty Officer Hospital Corpsman attached to the Marine Corps. Doc and Betty shared 45 loving years of marriage. As they moved throughout the nation, they made music and friends that have lasted through the years.
A memorial is scheduled for Doc at Ballard Funeral Home, Friday, June 12, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. Bruce Kirby will officiate the ceremony. All are welcome to attend and celebrate Doc's life.
