John A. Jack Ribbach
A memorial service will be held for John A. Jack Ribbach on Friday, May 25, 2012 at 11 am, at First United Methodist Church, in Roswell with Reverend Gorton Smith officiating and Stephanie Harmon assisting. Jack went home to his Lord on Tuesday, May 22, 2012.
Jack was born August 13, 1936 in Newark, NJ to John P. and Signe L. Ribbach, who preceded him in death. He is survived by his wife Marlayne of the home son Mark of Maui, HI and sister Linda
Ribbach of Minneapolis, MN. He is also survived by his sisterinlaw Zoe Ann Milner nieces and nephews Melissa and Mark Proctor, Pam and Jim Schultz, Steven Milner and great nieces and nephews Madison and Michela Proctor and Rebecca and Kristen Schultz.
Jack spent his first 18 years in North Caldwell, NJ and graduated from Grover Cleveland High School, in Caldwell, NJ in 1954. He then entered the United States Air Force in January 1955, and spent 22 years as a Career Airman. He was a Bomb Navigation Systems mechanic, and a Hound Dog Missile Systems Analyst. He was stationed at Walker AFB, Roswell, NM, for 11 years, Minot AFB North Dakota for 8 years, and Plattsburgh AFB New York for 1 year. He retired from the USAF in 1976 with the rank of Master Sergeant. After spending a year off at home, Jack went to work with the Post Office in Roswell, NM as a City letter carrier. Having spent twenty years with the Post Office, he retired in November 1997.
Jack and Marlayne enjoyed square dancing, RVing boating and fishing. They were members of the Cactus Sams RV Chapter. Jack also enjoyed singing in the Barber Shoppers, Silver Chords, and church choir. He also was an avid NASCAR fan and has a collection of 1500 diecast cars.
Jack was a member of First United Methodist Church, in Roswell, NM for almost 50 years and also a member of the choir, Silver Chords Chorus, and the Searchers Sunday school class.
As per his request, he has been cremated and his cremains are interred in the First United Methodist
Columbarium.
