John Charles Laney was a 40 year plus resident of Roswell, New Mexico. He passed away unexpectedly on May 24, 2021.
John was born on October 31, 1957 in Artesia, NM to Earl and Jewell Laney. He was a voracious reader who loved to read books about galaxies far far away as well as books on various philosophies of life. He loved to discuss the what ifs of these stories and contemplate the world in a different light. He was a lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan and his love of sports extended to his coaching of his sons when they were young. He was an intelligent man who loved to discuss the views of the world and what the world had (or had not) to offer for each of us.
He is survived by his three children; Amanda Amico of Bolder City, Nevada; Eric Laney of Las Vegas, Nevada; and Patrick Laney of Roswell, New Mexico; sisters June Norris Boles of Las Vegas New Mexico and Linda Williams of Bowie, Texas and one brother, Joe Donovan of Moses Lake, Washington and five grandchildren.
