A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, January 21, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church for John Fajardo, 44 of Roswell who passed away January 17, 2010 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 22, 2010 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Fr. Juan Antonio Gutierrez of St. Johns Catholic Church will officiate.
John was born on December 2, 1965 in Roswell, NM to Leo Fajardo Sr. and Hortencia Bustamante Fajardo. His mother survives him in Roswell
John is also survived by his son: John Scott Fajardo of Whitwell, TN his brothers: Leo Fajardo Jr. and wife Linda of Houston, TX, Pascual Fajardo and wife Saralei of Roswell, Ray Fajardo and wife Dara of Roswell, Paul Fajardo of Roswell, Lewis Fajardo of Lake Charles, La and Michael Fajardo of Roswell his sister: Anita Sandoval and husband Arthur Sr. of Roswell his grandfather: Manuel Solis of Roswell and numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his father: Leo Fajardo Sr., and two brothers: Rickey Fajardo and Manuel Fajardo.
John was a life long resident of Roswell and graduated from Roswell High School and then went on to attend and graduate from Eastern New Mexico University in Portales with a Bachelors Degree. During college he became a member of the Kappa Sig Fraternity. John worked as a car salesman and enjoyed golfing, baseball and was a Dallas Cowboys fan.
Pallbearers will be Eloy Castaneda, John Bennett, Robert Avina, Dennis Ormseth, Brian ONeal and Rick Cantu. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Kappa Sig Fraternity.
