Joe Dolores Lucero, Sr.
Joe D. Lucero, Sr. went to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 25, 2012 surrounded by his family.
A Rosary will be recited at St. Johns Catholic Church on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. A Mass of the Resurrection will be held at St. Johns Catholic Church on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at 10:00 a.m., by Father Juan Antonio Gutierrez. Interment will be at South Park Cemetery.
Joe was born April 15, 1931 in Gallup, New Mexico to Urbano and Eloisa Chavez Lucero, who preceded him in death. Joe married the love of his life, Maggie Lopez on September 21, 1950, in Gallup, New Mexico. Joe and Maggie were married 49 years at the time of Maggies death.
Left to cherish Joes memory are his daughters and their husbands, Josie and Mariano
Espinoza, Candy and Joe Samario, Eloise and Gabriel PinoVasquez, and Monica Garcia
and his sons and their wives, Gilbert and Phil Nettie Lucero, Robert and Blanca Lucero
and Raymond and Andrea Lucero, his daughter in laws, Dalene Lucero and Norma
Lucero. As well as 49 grandchildren, 87 great grandchildren and 4 great, great
grandchildren and two great, great grandchildren on the way, his sister Dorothy Godinez,
as well as numerous nieces and nephews, numerous cousins and Special friends Larry
Acevedo, Mario and Jackie Dominguez, Cecelia Marquez and Larry, Linda and Henry
Candelaria, as well as many, many friends too numerous to mention.
Joe was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church where he was a Crusillistas. Joe worked the St. Johns fair booth for many years and worked many Crusillos for St. Johns. Joe was an avid Bingo player and enjoyed going to the Casino.
Joe was preceded in death by his wife Maggie, sons Joe D. Lucero, Jr., Frank Lucero and Rudy Lucero, his brother Esteban Lucero, grandchildren, Rudolfp Vato Lucero and Rudolfo Lucero, Jr. a great grandchild Julian Anthony Rojas.
Pallbearers will be his grandsons: Anthony Espinoza, Joe Samario, Robert Lucero, Jr., Daniel Lucero, Christopher Lucero, Matthew Acevedo, Israel Espinoza, and Nick Espinoza. Honorary pallbearers will be his remaining grandchildren.
The family will receive friends at 316 East Hervey.
