Joe M. Castillo Pepe

Funeral services are scheduled for 11 am, Friday, February 24, 2011 at Ballard Chapel for Joe M Castillo Pepe, 78, of Roswell who passed away February 19th, 2012 at his home. Adam Soliz of the Spanish Presbyterian Church will be officiating with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Joe was born December 8th, 1933 in Mescalero N.M. to Martina Martinez and Abrelio Castillo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Joe was born in Mescalero and raised in Tularosa. He married Connie Ortega May 18, 1953. Together they raised four children.

Joe is survived by his wife Connie Castillo of 59 years son Tommy Castillo and wife Suzanne of Roswell daughters Vera Vigil and husband Manuel Vigil of Skandia, MI Susan Isaacs and husband Charles Isaacs of Roswell Niomi Castillo of Roswell, NM brothers Ignacio Castillo of Ruidoso, NM, Lucas Carrillo of Mescalero, NM, Robert Guerrero of Safford, AZ, Henry Guerrero of Tularosa, NM and Jose Guerrero of Alamogordo, NM sisters Lydia Tartaglai of Winkleman, AZ, Lupe Jimenez of Tularosa, NM, Dolorez Guerrero of Safford, AZ and Michaela Guerrero of Safford, AZ, Maria Molina of Safford AZ grandchildren Jennifer Woodington, Alison Pizzi, Jason Vigil, John Isaacs Sr., Sarah Isaacs, Connie Marie Gutierrez, Andrew Isaacs, Amanda Nasrallah, Tommy Joey Castillo, Amber Castillo, Jasmine Hernandez, and Mercedes Hernandez and sixteen great grandchildren.

Joe worked on a ranch in Caprock for ten years and also other ranches including Lyman Graham, Dooper and Goode and Norman Gross. He later moved to Roswell with his family where he worked for the City of Roswell for twenty years and retired in 1996.
Joe enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, camping, spending time with his family, working outside, he was never without a project. When the weather was bad he enjoyed watching westerns and cleaning pecans. He never missed wrestling on Monday and Friday nights. Joe was strong, hardworking, and loving. He will be greatly missed by all his friends and family.

Pallbearers will be John Isaacs, Andrew Isaacs, Joey Castillo, Gerard Gutierrez, Joseph Nasrallah, James Ortega, Gary Peterson and Michael Peterson. Honorary pallbearers will be Sarah Isaacs, Connie Marie Gutierrez, Amanda Nasrallah, Amber Castillo, Jasmine Hernandez, Mercedes Hernandez, Arthur Ortega, Carmen Ortega, Steve Ortega, Charles Isaacs and Armando Barragon.
