Joaquin Serrano

Joaquin Serrano, 95 years of age, beloved father, grandfather, great grandfather, great-great grandfather was called to his eternal resting place on Thursday, November 30, 2023. He entered this world on August 16, 1928 in Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, Mexico, born to father Antonio Serrano and mother Benita Escobedo.

Joaquin is loved by SOOO many! He taught his family that God is always first, his family was everything to him, his biggest joys in life was to have all his family together. He enjoyed fishing at Lake Van in Dexter - many special moments with his brother Fidencio which introduced him to fishing, his favorite days were when one of his kids or grandkids would pick him up and take him fishing. Joaquin also enjoyed Playing cards “Conquian”, he loved listening to music, dancing and singing. He was a hardworking man and always provided for all the family. Joaquin loved his wife “Licha” of 47 years of marriage, they were inseparable.

Those left to honor and cherish his memory are his children: Aureliano Flores and wife Maria and 8 children; Arturo Serrano and wife Carmen and 2 children; Juan Antonio and late wife Gloria and 5 children; Tomás Serrano and wife Kika and 6 children; Jose Serrano and  wife Teresa and 2 children; Consuelo Salas and husband Enrique and 2 children; Marisela Serrano García, and 7 children; Jesus Serrano and wife Norma and 10 children; Agustín Serrano and wife Paty and 3 children; Pablo Serrano and Rosa and 5 children; Elvia Banda and husband John and 6 children; Fernando Jara and wife Melanie and 4 children; Joaquin Jr Serrano and Shantilly and 2 children; Rosa Serrano and Ervin and 3 children;  Miguel Serrano and Amie Lorena; Tommy Martinez and 3 children; Jaime Serrano and 1 child. Also, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, wayyyyy too many to name! He loved all his family dearly!

Joaquin death is preceded in by both parents and all his siblings and many more…

Those honored to serve as pallbearers are all his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers are Don Raul Sanchez and all his special friends.

A viewing will be held from 2:00 to 6:00 pm on Monday, December 4, 2023 at Ballard Funeral Home with a rosary following at 6:00 pm at Ballard Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Tuesday, December 5, 2023 at St. John’s Catholic Church with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery. 

Reception to follow at his home as he requested 913 Mathews St., Roswell, NM 88201.

Joaquín Serrano, 95 años de edad, un amado padre, abuelo, bisabuelo, tatarabuelo fue llamado a su descanso eterno el jueves 30 de noviembre de 2023. Llegó a este mundo el 16 de agosto de 1928 en Villa Guerrero, Jalisco, México, hijo de padre Antonio Serrano y madre Benita Escobedo.

¡Joaquín es amado por MUCHÍSIMOS! Le enseñó a su familia que Dios siempre está primero, que su familia lo era todo para él, que su mayor alegría en la vida era tener a toda su familia unida. Le gustaba pescar en el Lake Van en Dexter, muchos momentos especiales con su hermano Fidencio que lo introdujeron a la pesca, sus días favoritos eran cuando uno de sus hijos o nietos lo recogía y lo llevaba a pescar. A Joaquín también le gustaba jugar a las cartas "Conquian", le encantaba escuchar música, bailar y cantar. Era un hombre trabajador y siempre mantenía a toda la familia. Joaquín amaba a su esposa "Licha" de 47 años de matrimonio, eran inseparables.

Quienes se quedan para honrar y atesorar su memoria son sus hijos: Aureliano Flores y su esposa María y 8 hijos; Arturo Serrano y su esposa Carmen y 2 hijos; Juan Antonio y su difunta esposa Gloria y 5 hijos; Tomás Serrano y su esposa Kika y 6 hijos; José Serrano y su esposa Teresa y 2 hijos; Consuelo Salas y su esposo Enrique y 2 hijos; Marisela Serrano García, y 7 hijos; Jesús Serrano y su esposa Norma y 10 hijos; Agustín Serrano y su esposa Paty y 3 hijos; Pablo Serrano y Rosa y 5 hijos; Elvia Banda y su esposo John y 6 hijos; Fernando Jara y su esposa Melanie y 4 hijos; Joaquín Jr. Serrano y Shantilly y 2 hijos; Rosa Serrano y Ervin y 3 hijos;  Miguel Serrano y Amie Lorena; Tommy Martínez y 3 hijos; Jaime Serrano y 1 hijo. Además, muchos nietos, bisnietos y tataranietos, sobrinas y sobrinos, ¡demasiados para nombrarlos! ¡Amaba mucho a toda su familia!

La muerte de Joaquín es precedida por sus padres y todos sus hermanos y muchos más...

Los que tienen el honor de servir como portadores del féretro son todos sus nietos. Los portadores honoríficos del féretro son Don Raúl Sánchez y todos sus amigos especiales.

Se llevará a cabo un velatorio de 2:00 a 6:00 p. m. el lunes 4 de diciembre de 2023 en la Funeraria Ballard con un rosario a las 6:00 p. m. en la Funeraria Ballard . El servicio funerario se llevará a cabo a las 2:00 p. m. del martes 5 de diciembre de 2023 en la iglesia católica de St. John's y el entierro seguirá en el cementerio de South Park. 

La recepción se llevará a cabo en su casa como lo solicitó en 913 Mathews St., Roswell, NM 88201.
