A memorial service is scheduled for 3 pm, Friday, March 28, 2014 at Ballard Chapel for Jimmy Lee Patterson, 53, who passed away Sunday, March 23, 2014 in Lubbock, TX. Rev. Randy Nolen of Westminster Presbyterian Church will officiate. Family will gather before the services at 2 pm, at Ballard Funeral Home.
Jimmy was born July 9, 1960 in Roswell, NM to Norman Harold Patterson and Barbara Ann Corn Patterson. His father preceded him in death. On August 11, 2006 Jimmy married Cynthia Ann Faust in Chama, NM.
Jimmy graduated from Roswell High School in 1978. He was a Rotary exchange student to Finland in 1979. Jimmy returned to Roswell and attended ENMUR and graduated from the aircraft and power program. He traveled the world during his time working in the airline industry. Jimmy later returned to school and graduated from ENMUPortales with a degree in accounting and work for Nova Bus as their fixed asset accountant. In 2006 Jimmy purchased a Snap on Tools franchise in Lubbock, TX which he owned and operated until his death. A hobby of Jimmy was restoring vintage Cushman motorcycles, which he took great pride in doing.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Cynthia Patterson of Lubbock, TX his mother Barbra Corn Patterson of Roswell, NM sister Carolyn Sidd and husband Dr. Richard Sidd of Roswell, NM brothers Ernest Harold Patterson and wife Sharon of San Antonio, TX and Kenneth Irwin Patterson and wife Cheryl of Monroe City, MO aunt and uncle Tom and Bettie Corn of Athens, TX. Jimmy was a devoted uncle to his nieces and nephews, Amy Reich, Owen Sidd, Heather Patterson, Ryan Patterson, Matthew Patterson, Anna Sidd, Brian Faust and Melissa Faust.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Hospice of Lubbock, 3702 21st St., Lubbock, TX 79410.
